Fairytales aren’t real…yeah…that’s exactly what Bianca thought. She was wrong.

For generations, the Frost family has run the Museum of Magical and Rare Artifacts, handing down guardianship from mother to daughter, always keeping their secrets to “family only.”

Gathered within museum’s walls is a collection dedicated to the Grimm fairy tales and to the rare items the family has acquired: Cinderella’s glass slipper, Snow White’s poisoned apple, the evil queen’s magic mirror, Sleeping Beauty’s enchanted spinning wheel…

Seventeen-year-old Bianca Frost wants none of it, dreaming instead of a career in art or photography or…well, anything except working in the family’s museum. She knows the items in the glass display cases are fakes because, of course, magic doesn’t really exist.

She’s about to find out how wrong she is.

The Cajun Test

I get very frustrated with hollywood movies that try to depict the Cajun way of life...and always get it wrong. Recently I saw one with Ed Asner in it. And actually, he was the only one that came close to getting the accent right. The rest of the actors sounded more like they were from Alabama, not Louisiana.

Even though I am not into the TV show, Swamp People, if you want to know what a real Cajun sounds like, watch it. Those people are actual Cajuns, and Pierre Part is a real place.

I just learned there is a test—yes you heard me, a test—to tell if you're ready to make a movie about Cajun country. I found it on The Impatient Cajun's blog. Go ahead, take the test. It's easy if you're from Louisiana. If  not, just enjoy the fun.

Incidentally, my book, The Legend of Ghost Dog Island, is set in Cajun Country in the 1950s. Played by real Cajuns. I garontee!
