Musa Publishing Anniversary Blog Hop

Musa is turning one and they are giving away a new Kindle Fire...plus other prizes.

While you are here, learn more about my upcoming middle grade novel, THE LEGEND OF GHOST DOG ISLAND, coming out in November from Musa's Euterpe imprint.

The Legend of Ghost Dog Island

Moving is nothing new for ten-year-old Nikki Landry. Her fisherman father relocates their raggedy old houseboat several times a year in search of better fishing spots. However, their latest move has brought her to a mysterious bayou where she feels like something is watching her from a nearby island. But when Papa tells her about a local legend that something sinister might be living near her new home stealing the souls of dogs, she fears for her beloved beagle’s life. Join Nikki as she seeks to discover the truth behind the legend…before it’s too late.

Ghost Dog Island? Is that a real place or based upon a real place? What an unusual name.
Thanks for participating in the Hop.

I can't think of a better setting for a spooky tale than the Louisiana bayous. I stayed in Slidell for a while with my dad as a teenager and it is one of the most hauntingly beautiful places in the world. I think all creepy books should be set in Louisiana. Thanks for participating in this awesome hop!

Thanks for visiting, Catherina. Good luck on the drawing. The setting of the story and the island is based in real places. The name I made up. But as a kid, there were some really spooking things going on out there that no one could explain. My father had lots of stories to tell about what was living in the swamps, which planted the seeds to my stories.

Hey Donna. Thanks for posting your experiences in Louisiana. Yes, its atmosphere holds its own for mysterious. Hope you will give my book a peek next month.
